2 home games this week with a chance to qualify

Our men’s Senior national team will be in action this week in the 2029 Eurobasket pre-qualifiers for the last window of the qualification round. Both games will be played at home at the Coque in Kirchberg!

National team head coach Ken Diederich sees a great opportunity in this last part of the window because it is the first time that Luxembourg has the chance to qualify with 2 games at home to finish a qualification. „It is a unique situation and a little bonus for our team, we do not have to travel and can play in front our home fans twice within 4 days. We have 2 « finals » coming up, we need to beat Azerbaijan on Thursday, that is a must-win. Azerbaijan has a tall and strong team under the baskets, we need to make our shots against them in order to have a chance. »

Some new faces are part of the FLBB roster that is in the middle of a generational change. „Some young players are stepping up. We have Dorian Grosber back with the team, Edson De Sousa is part of the U20 team and the men’s team and has made enormous progress, Namik Muratovic is a new face for fans in Luxembourg. At the same time, we rely on our experienced players to lead the team. »

After the preparation that included a camp in Valencia and a charity game, Luxembourg is ready for the two upcoming games. The team needs your support! 🏀
