3 decisive games in the men’s play-offs / Gréngewald – Pikes postponed

The women’s semi finals are set. T71 will meet Résidence Walfer and Gréngewald Hueschtert will play against Sparta Bertrange as the favorites were able to win the quarter finals 2:0.

In the men’s play-offs, only champion Amicale Steinsel has already booked its ticket to the semi finals. 3 decisive games will be played this weekend:

On Saturday:
20:15 T71 Dudelange – Sparta Bertrange

On Sunday:
16:15 Basket Esch – Résidence Walfer
17:15 Etzella Ettelbruck – Arantia Larochette

On Saturday, one game is scheduled as T71 will host Sparta. The team from Bertrange has been playing extremely well in 2023 under head coach Christophe Flammang. During the week, Sparta scored 103 points and scored 24+ points in every quarter to force a decisive game 3. T71 needs to find a way to slow down the guests, all supporters can expect a real fight in this final showdown of the quarter finals.

On Sunday, 2 games are scheduled. Etzella ran out of gas in Larochette on Wednesday but will have home court in the decisive game. For the hosts, slowing down JJ Overton might become the key, the professional player of Larochette has been averaging 30 points per game in the first 2 games despite his troubles from the free throw line (12/27 combined in both games).

Résidence Walfer was able to end its losing streak on Thursday to force a game 3 in Esch. Henry Pwono had a great scoring night (30 points) and the team hit 12 threes in total to grab a close win at home. On the road in Esch, Walfer faces a difficult challenge. In a do or die situation, every play can make the difference and the games will be extremely interesting for all supporters.

Meanwhile, the game Gréngewald Hueschtert- Musel Pikes in the men’s play-down is postponed to a later date because of the Covid-19-virus. On Saturday evening, Heffingen will host AS Zolwer at 20:00. If Heffingen loses, the team relegates to the second league.

Update: The game Musel Pikes – Gréngewald will be played on Wednesday (April 5th) at 20:30.
