Amicale-men take 1:0 lead / T71-women advance

On Sunday, Etzella and Amicale played the first game of their quarter finals series.

Etzella – Amicale 88:94
– Amicale had 5 players with 5+ points in te first half and led by 10 points (38:48)
– Etzella cut into the lead in the third quarter but Amicale reacted and took a 10-point lead into the final 10 minutes (57:67)
– Etzella tried a late comeback and even had some steals to reduce the deficit and a wild 3-pointer by Philippe Gutenkauf, Etzella trailed by only 3 points with 1o seconds remainign, but Amicale was able to get an easy basket by Theisen (video) to ice the game, Etzella turned the ball on the inbounds and won the game

On Saturday, Basket Esch took a 1:0 lead over T71:
Basket Esch – T71 80:74
– 7 T71-players scored in the first half as the guests had a 39:35 lead at the break
– In a very exciting final quarter with mutliple lead changes, Esch had the better finish to take a 1:0 lead in the series
– Clancy Rugg had a big double double with 23 points and 14 rebounds, 4 Esch-players scored in double digits

Meanwhile, the women from Dudelange have adanced to the semi-finals by beating Etzella 2:0 in the quarter finals.

Etzella – T71 61:94
– T71 wins the series 2:0
– Laina Snyder led Dudelange with 28 points, Mreches (19), Mossong (16) and Geniets (14) scored in double digits as well

On Saturday, Contern and Basket Esch forced a decisive game 3:

Basket Esch – Résidence Walfer 65:56
– Tatsiana Likhtarovich scored 31 points and added 10 rebounds to tie the series at 1:1
– the decisive game 3 will be played on Wednesday in Walferdange

Amicale – Musel Pikes 81:75 (overtime)
– Julie Mangen led Amicale with 21 points, Esmeralda Skrijelj added 19 as Amicale wins the series 2:0

Contern – Gréngewald 67:64
– Paige Bradley scored a game-high 26 points to tie the series at 1:1
– The decisive game 3 will be played in Oberanven on Wednesday
