Clancy Rugg ends his career in the national team

Clancy Rugg has decided to put an end to his career in the men’s Senior national team. The 34-year old forward was a part of the team over the past years and left his mark as one of the country’s elite players.

Sunday’s game against North Macedonia was his final appearence in the national team jersey.

Statement by Clancy:
„It’s with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from the Luxembourg National Basketball Team, which I been a part of since 2019. Over the last 7 years we have had a great amount of success, and I am happy to have been a part of it. I need to say a big thank you to all of my National Team teammates, coaches and staff, as well as fans of the team, for all of your support and for giving me the opportunity to put on the number 31 jersey for Luxembourg time and time again. I feel comfortable stepping away now, knowing the future is bright and in the good hands of the next generation of immensely talented Luxembourgish basketball players. Representing the country of Luxembourg has been an honor, and I’ll look back on this time of my basketball career and life with nothing but the best of memories.“
