Contern and Résidence advance to the semi-finals

On Wednesday-evening, the decisive game 3 of the women’s quarter finals were played. T71 and Amicale already qualified last weekend by winning their series 2:0.

Gréngewald – Contern 54:67
– Erica Morrow had to leave the game after only 4 minutes with a foot/leg injury, she had to helped off the court after a non-contact play
– Contern led 35:21 at the break but Gréngewald came out strong in the third quarter behind Meynadier who scored 11 points by herself in that period, the greens reduced the deficit to 5 points entering the final quarter
– Contern scored 23 points in the last quarter to win this game, Contern hit 23/26 free-throws, Herlihy (21 points), Bradley (15) and Kauffmann (10) scored in double digits, Meynadier led Gréngewald with 26 points
– Contern will now face T71 in the semi-finals

Résidence – Basket Esch 73:56
– After a balanced first half, Résidence had a strong third quarter (21:8) to create a lead
– Esch was icecold from behind the arc, the team only hit 2 out of 23 attempts from the 3-point-line
– Anthony (23 points), Cahill (20) and Leid (18) led Résidence
– Résidence will face Amicale Steinsel in the semi-finals
