AB Contern has won game 1 of the promotion and relegation series against Avanti Mondorf. On Sunday, Contern was able to beat the National 2 team on the road, Contern will now have a chance to secure a place in the LBBL next week at home, the first team with 2 victories will play in the LBBL next season.
After leading by 5 points after 20 minutes, Contern extended the lead with a strong third quarter (22:16) and a strong start into the 4th quarter, the team of coach Gavin Love led by nearly 20 points and the game was decided in the middle of the last quarter. However, Mondorf fought until the end and reduced the deficit to 10 points with 2 minutes to go, the final score was 77:93
