Game day 9 / Women’s game Amicale – T71 cancelled

This weekend, the 9th game day will be played in the women’s and men’s LBBL.

In the men’s league, the top game is scheduled in Walferdange where 2 of the top 3 teams in the league, Résidence Walfer and Etzella Ettelbruck, will meet each other. Both teams have a 7:1 record and are high scoring teams so that this game should become a very entertaining one to watch. T71 Dudelange (7:1) will try to stay on top of the standings as they host Sparta Bertrange (3:5), a team that has played without a professional player last week but recently added former player Lavone Holland. The Musel Pikes (2:6) will try to upset champion Amicale Steinsel (6:2) while AB Contern (4:4) is looking to challenge Basket Esch (6:2). US Heffingen (1:7) will host AS Zolwer (0:8) in the duell of the bottom teams in the standings. Newcomer Gréngewald Hueschtert (3:5) will have a chance to take a 2-point lead over Arantia Larochette (2:6) on Sunday.

In the women’s league, the game between the unbeaten leader T71 Dudelange and Amicale Steinsel is cancelled. T71’s flight home from Portugal was cancelled on Friday evening. the team will travel home in groups on Saturday.

The top game will be played in Bertrange where Sparta (5:3) will host Gréngewald Hueschtert (5:1). This game is a chance for Sparta to show that they can compete with the best teams in the league. AB Contern (6:1) will try to stay in reach with the top spots in the standings when they host Basket Esch (2:5), the team from Esch is in 9th place at the moment, lower than most expected the team to be this season. The Musel Pikes (3:5) look to change their negative record over the next weeks but face a difficult challenge at home against Résidence Walfer (6:3). The team of coach Brian Carroll is on a 5-game winning streak and is looking to extend this streak on the road. On Sunday, Etzella (3:5) is hosting Wiltz (1:7) in the duell of the North.
