Heffingen eliminates Basket Esch / Etzella knocks out Steinsel

On Wednesday evening, the quarter finals in the women’s and men’c cup competition started.

Men:
Wednesday:
Arantia Larochette – Résidence Walfer 80:95
– Résidence led 52:27 at the break after hitting 60% of its shot attempts in the first half
– 6 players scored 9+ points for Résidence, all starters scored in double digits and Leon ayers led the team with 34 points

Etzella Ettelbruck – Amicale Steinsel 74:68
– After the game was close for 3 quarters, Etzella took a small lead to start the fourth quarter, Amicale’s last run fell short and the cup winner of last season is till in the competition
– Jimmie Taylor led Etzella with 28 points

US Heffingen (+10) – Basket Esch 80:53
– Heffingen was simply on fire in the first half and had highlight plays to keep the crowd cheering (videos), the National 2 team led 44:27 at the break after leading 31:10 after the first quarter (with a 10-point bonus to start)
– Esch was not able to find its rhythm and only scored 53 points, Heffingen creates a big surprise and advances to the semi finals
– Jonathan Janssen led the hosts with 20 points

Women:
Telstar Hesper – Gréngewald Hueschtert 0:20 (forfait)
– Gréngewald advances after Telstar announced a forfait

Wednesday:
T71 Dudelange – Les Sangliers Wiltz 88:60
– 5 T71-players scored in double digits, Mia Loyd led the team with 16 points

Black Frogs Schieren (+10) – Sparta Bertrange 40:86
– Sparta led 50:17 after the first half
– Nicole Torresani led all scorers with 26 points as Sparta cruises to the semi finals

On Thursday:
