Heffingen beats Mondorf 67:66 (video) / Schieren and Mersch grab victories

On Saturday evening, the first game day of the National 2 play-offs was played.

League leader US Heffingen won a thriller against Mondorf, the final score was 67:66. Mondorf had 2 chances to win the game, but missed these attempts (video). Jackson Meshanic missed the game for Mondorf, Jonathan Jansen led Heffingen with 26 points as the team stays on top of the league.

The Black Frogs Schieren start the play-offs with a 102:81 win at home against AS Zolwer. The hosts were ale to win every quarter and scored at least 23 points in every quarter. While Joshua Reynolds (30) and Desean Hampton (27) led their team in scoring, National 2 JICL topscorer Thierry Schaaf added 15 points as Schieren overcame a game-high 39 points by Tylik Evans. Schieren takes a 4-point lead over Zolwer in the standings.

Black Star Mersch continues its winning streak to start the play-offs with a thrilling 72:69 victory on the road against Racing Luxembourg. Marquavian Stephens led all scorers with 37 points. Racing played with Greg Logins Jr in the absence of Eddie Davis who misses his fourth straight game. Logins finished the game with 10 points and 18 rebounds but it was not enough as Racing trails the second place in the standings by 3 points after this loss.
