Heffingen cruises, big points for Schieren

Game day 3 was played in the men’s National 2 play-offs on Friday and Saturday.

The Black Frogs Schieren take a big 97:82 victory on the road against Racing Luxembourg and the team is now alone in second place in the newest standings. Joshua Reynolds led the team with 34 points while Desean Hampton (28), Alex Pereira (17) and Thierry Schaaf (13) had strong games as well. After starting the play-offs with 3 losses, Racing has lost contact to the promotion spots in the standings, however, 7 games remain to be played.

League leader US Heffingen continues to grow its lead after a 93:66 win against Black Star Mersch.The hosts knocked down 17 three-point shots in this blowout victory, Jonathan Janssen led his team with another double double (24/11). In the standings, Heffingen has a comfortable lead and it looks like the promotion will only be a matter of time for the team of coach Alex Pires.

On Friday evening, Avanti Mondorf was able to beat AS Zolwer 103:77. 5 players scored in double digits for Mondorf, the team also hit 13 threes in total, Jake Ross and Luke Harper both had 29 points to lead the team. Zolwer’s Tylik Evans was limited to 9 minutes as he had to leave the game early with an injury.
