High level of approval by the clubs for the U18 project

At the General assembly of the FLBB on Saturday morning in Kirchberg, the calendar for the season 2025/26 was presented.

The cup finals 2026 will be played on February 7th and not in March because of the FIBA windows that take away the possibility to play the finals in March. The season 2025/26 will start on September 20th.

Next to the calendar, several votes were on the agenda. A project by the FLBB to include a selection of U18 players as a CFBB team in the men’s National 2 received a high level of approval by the clubs. 82% of the clubs voted in favor of the project that will start next season with the goal to get players more playing time and develop them in a high level competition.

Moreover, it was announced that the Musel Pikes’ women’s team will stay in the women’s Enovos League in the 2025/26 season. Black Star Mersch and Etzella Ettelbruck decided to stay in the National 2.

Another vote opened up the CUP FLBB for all B-teams in the women’s Division 1 and the men’s Division 1. This will give more clubs and teams the possibility to compete in the « small » cup competition.
