How is the situation for Ben Kovac in the Netherlands?

Ben Kovac just started his professional career, played 1 game after missing the season opener because of an injury, and now the season is interrupted for at least another few weeks.

„It was a shock when we heard that our season was interrupted. However, we continued to practice in small groups (3-4 people) after a small break of one week. Our coach immediately told us to use this time to get better, stay in shape and use it as a second off-season. Our coach always says he wants to have the team that has the best shape in the league and that’s what we see every practice.“

The practices are not cancelled, Ben and his teammates practice twice a day, in the morning and the afternoons. They use groups (guards, forwards, big guys). „Our pratices are very intense, we run a lot and shoot a lot in our groups. We have a total of around 4 hours of pratice every day which allows us to stay in shape. For the rest, we take our sanitary precautions at every moment when we are not in the middle of a pratice.“

Mentally, the situation is not easy but the team „is in this situation together and we all have the same goal to come back strong and in shape once the season restarts. Unfortunately, the Covid-19-caes are rising here and at this moment, we do not expect the season to continue before January.“

Thomas GrÜn’s situation is a little bit more challenging as Trier has been in quarantien, we talked to him a few days ago –> „Mentally challenging” – Thomas Grün has to practice at home at the moment
