LBBL weekend preview

A full game day will be played this weekend in the women`s and men`s LBBL.

In the men’s league, the top game will be played in Walferdange between the host and Basket Esch. The team of coach Alexis Kreps is 6:1 ans leads the standings, Basket Esch (5:2) will have a chance to tie with the opponent with a road win.
Another top game will be played in Heffingen where the host (5:2) also has the chance to tie in the standings with a win against the opponent Sparta (6:1), a team that is currently on a 6-game-winning streak and therefore full of confidence.
With a new interim head coach, Anan Majdi, the Musel Pikes will look to grab their first win of the season but they face a difficult challenge at T71 (3:4), a team that is not satisfied with 3 wins out of 7 games.
After getting their first win of the season, Amicale looks to win a game at home against Etzella, a team that has had Covid-issues last week with players missing games.
Contern and Racing have the same record (2:5) so that a win in this duell is extremely important for both teams to keep the look in the standings up towards the play-off-places.
On Sunday, Telstar (2:5) will look to end a 5-game losing streak against Arantia (5:2), a team that has started into the season very strong and is comes off a perfect double weekend.

In the women’s LBBL, a rescheduled game was played on Thursday between Etzella and Wiltz. the complete game day 8 is being played this weeekend with one game already being played on Friday evening between Amicale and Basket Esch. On Saturday, the unbeaten leader T71 is the huge favorite against Etzella, a team that has earned its first win last weekend. the most interesting is the one between Gréngewald and the Musel Pikes, both teams have the ambiion to win the title this season and they currently are 2nd (Pikes) and 3rd (greens) in the standings. Gréngewald will have a chance to tie with the opponent.
