Luxembourg loses 58:72 against Norway in front of 1800 spectators

On Sunday, our men’s national team hosted Norway at the Coque in Kirchberg, it was the second game of the 2027 World Cup pre-qualifiers. In front of a sold out crowd (1800 spectators), Luxembourg was in the game for 3 quarters but the guests dominated the final quarter to come up with a victory on the road.

The guest took an early 24:9 lead after the first quarter but Luxembourg reacted well with a 15:2 run to start the second quarter. Norway showed its qualities oince again before the break and took a 43:32 lead into the locker rooms. After the break, Luxembourg had an amazing. Pushed by 1800 supporters (video), Clancy Rugg and his teammates went on a run and led 52:51 after 3 quarters. However, Luxembourg went cold in the fourth quarter and finally lost this game 58:72.

At half-time, Nadia Mossong and Bob Melcher were honored for their many years in the national team. Georges Mischo, minister of sports, and FLBB-president Samy Picard handed out pictures to our former national team players. We want to thank both players for their commitment to play for Luxembourg for so many years.
