Luxembourg loses 66:80 in front of 2000 spectators (video highlights)

On Sunday afternoon, our men’s national team hosted North Macedonia at the Coque in Kirchberg. It was the 6th and final game of the FIBA 2029 Eurobasket pre-qualifiers.

In front of 2000 spectators, Luxembourg lost 66:80 and misses the next round of the qualifiers. In the final standings of group A, the FLBB squad finishes in 2nd place because of the best point differential compared to Ireland and Azerbaijan.

Luxembourg struggled from the field in the first half and trailed 27:46 at the break. In the second half, the FLBB team showed a strong reaction and fought back into the game by reducing the deficit to under 10 points. However, North Macedonia stayed in control and managed to win the game with a 14-point-difference in the end.

Ben Kovac scored 17 points for Luxembourg, Clancy Rugg added 14 points and Dorian Grosber scored 10.
