Men’s weekend preview: Showdown between Etzella and Résidence!

This Saturday and Sunday, the 20th game-day will be played in the men’s Total League. One game stands out, it is the matchup between the leaders in the standings: Etzella and Résidence! This also means that one team will have the lead in the standings on Sunday-evening.

In their first matchup this season, Résidence won a close game 77:74, the direct comparison might become the deciding factor who will finish the regular season in the first place so that this will be a very thrilling game. Unfortunately for Walferdange, Malcolm Kreps will miss a few weeks with an ankle injury.

Sparta has shown that they can beat teams with professional players and their home game against Arantia is clearly another game that the club wants to win. The guests from Larochette also need a win in order to protect their good position in the standings in the play-off-race.

Basket Esch comes of a very important home-win against Contern and now the champion wants to earn another victory in the capital against Racing to stay in front of Contern and Arantia in the standings.

The Musel Pikes and Heffingen, who will meet on Saturday in Stadtbredimus, are in a desperate situation, they need to win all of their remaining games and they have to hope that Contern or Arantia lose all of their games at the same time.

AB Contern is in a good position to reach the play-in game and they are the favorite before entering the game against Amicale.

Note: The game between T71 and Telstar is cancelled due to the Covid-19-virus.

In the women’s league, the first game of both semi-finals-series will be played on Saturday.
