Musel Pikes face elimination, Yoerger expects her team to be ready and play better

The Musel Pikes face big pressure on Wednesday-evening when the team will play in Walferdange for the second game of the best-of-3-series in the women’s semi-finals. After losing game 1 at home in a thriller, the Musel Pikes need to win game 2 in order to keep their season alive and force a decisive game 3 (at home).

Bridget Yoerger has been the focal point of the Musel Pikes’ team all season, she is scoring, rebounding and passing on a high level. With 6 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist, she did not have her best game in game 1, now it is time for the Pikes to step up: „Our strength this whole season has been team basketball and focusing on how we play. For game 2, we need to start the game playing our game and being aggressive. This is how we made our big comeback in game 1.“ In fact, the Musel Pikes tormed back in the final quarter and even took a lead late in the game, but Résidence’s Samantha Logic was unstoppable and led her team to a victory.

The Musel Pikes are under pressure, but the team has played big games over the last years and knows how to handle the situation: „We have experienced players on our team, so I’m confident we will be ready to play. In game 1, I put a lot of pressure on myself and let it affect my game, but my role will be what it has been all season-do whatever is needed to get the win. We have a complete team, where anyone can have a big night, so I’m looking forward to another exciting, competitive game!“

Another „exciting and competitive game » is definitely coming up, both teams are playing on a very similar level. Make sure to follow the game in the RTL LIVE ARENA
