Recap and pictures of our U20 women’s exchange in Portugal

Our U20 women travelled to Portugal to face the hosts in two friendly games. Luxembourg lost game one 39:74 and game two 35:71.

Here is a recap of our coaching staff about the exchange:

„Our U20 girls team played its first two friendly games after a short preparation period.
We played against a very physical, athletic and aggressive team which allowed us to see and analyze our weak points to be able to work on these points and improve the general performance of the team afterwards.
Defensively, we were dominated under the basket by their big players, we unfortunately could not control the defensive rebounds despite the slight improvement during the second game. The defensive transition was slow with a lack of communication.
Physically, the staff is satisfied with the energy and defensive aggressiveness of the team.
Offensively, despite the desire to create a well-structured fast transition philosophy, we had poor ball control (a lot of loose balls), we hesitated to take shots. The coaching stuff noticed that there is a lack of offensive animation (the team plays for the first time together).
Despite the defeat, we remain optimistic and continue to work to show a good level of basketball in Skopje.
We thank the FLBB for allowing us to live this great experience.“
