Recap of the BaWü exchange

The recaps of the girls and boys (by the coaching staff):

Girls:
As every year, the exchange proved to be an important step in the development of the players. Three games were played against a selection team from Baden-Württemberg (BaWü), who played at a higher level of competition than during the first exchange and the Five Regions Tournament. The exchange provided a valuable (first for some) international experiences.
All 15 players were given playing time and the opportunity to gain important experience on the court.
The first half of the games presented some difficulties, but after halftime the team was able to adjust. Through aggressive defense, easy scoring opportunities were created, and good shots were consistently taken, leading to a clear win in the second half.
The players showed excellent behavior, strong commitment, and great fighting spirit throughout the games.
One area identified for improvement is being fully ready from the opening whistle, which will be worker on in the future to ensure better starts into the game.

Game 1: Bawü – Lux 56:70
Game 2: Bawü – Lux 41:84
Game 3: Bawü – Lux 49:73

Boys:
The annual exchange took place at the Steinbach Sports School from April 24 to 27, 2025. The focus was on consolidating the training content developed throughout the year and implementing it in games. Our U14 boys, including six players born in 2012, took advantage of the opportunity to further develop at this level.

In addition to the training sessions, the players were looking forward to the games. For large parts of the three matches, the team succeeded in implementing the instructions very well. The coaching staff was particularly pleased with the attitude of the boys, who played very aggressively, especially in defense. Offensively, they tried to maintain a high tempo, which led to errors at times, but is an important part of the development process.

Every player who distinguished themselves through their performance was given the chance to prove themselves against the physically superior selection from Baden-Württemberg. Some of them made lasting impressions. Overall, the coaching team had the impression that the players had sensed the pace and intensity that truly exist at the international level and were determined to implement this in the upcoming training sessions.

The team also performed exemplary off the field.

A big thank you goes to the BBW Association and the Steinbach Sports School for their outstanding hospitality and smooth organization. We would also like to thank physiotherapist Fränz Rischette, who took excellent care of the boys throughout their stay.
