Résidence and T71 take 1:0 lead

The favorites T71 Dudelange and Résidence Walferdange have taken a 1:0 lead in the women’s semi-finals.

T71 – Contern 74:68
– T71 takes a 1:0 lead in the best-of-3 series
– T71 entered the final quarter with a comfortable lead but Contern stromed back and came as close as 5 points (69:64) which forced Jérôme Altmann to take a timeout with 4 minutes remaining. T71 managed to control the game in the final minutes.
– Laina Snyder (24 points, 13 rebounds), Shalonda Winton (17 points, 12 rebounds) had double-doubles while Catherine Mreches added 12 points. Paige Bradley led Contern with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists
– Game 2 will be played in Contern next weekend

Résidence – Amicale 91:76
– Résidence takes a 1:0 lead in the best-of-3 series
– Kierra Anthony (27 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assist) and Amanda Cahill (27/12/5) had very similar stats to lead their team, Emily Leid (16 points) and Lina Fapranzi (13) scored in double digits as well
– Braydey Hodgins (18 points) led Amicale while Esmeralda Skrijelj (15), Julie Mangen (15) and Linda Ndoli (10) scored in double digits
– Game 2 will be played in Steinsel next weeekend
