Résidence qualifies for the finals after thrilling finish in decisive game 3

The decisive game 3 of the women’s semi-finals-series between the Musel Pikes and Résidence Walferdange was played on Friday-evening. In the end, it was a thrilling finish in the decisive game 3, the guests from Walferdange qualified for the finals.

Musel Pikes – Résidence Walfer 73:74
– The Pikes were on fir to start the game, 6 players (all 5 starters and Sitz) scored points in the first 8 minutes of the game. Logic answered for the guests and kept her team in the game with 10 first quarter points (Pikes led 29:24 after 10′)
– After scoring 29 points in the opening quarter, the Pikes got cold in the second quarter, Résidence outscored the hosts 17:8 in this period and the guests led by 4 points going into the locker rooms
– The game stayed very intense in the third quarter and both teams made a lot of shots, Résidence led 61:56 going into the final quarter
– After the game was tied with 5 minutes remaining, Résidence went on a quick 6:0 run to take a lead, but the Musel Pikes came back once again and the game was decided in the final seconds. With 2 seconds remaining and down by 1 point, the Musel pikes called a timeout, they had an inbounds under the basket but could not score the ball! (video)
– Cahill led her team with 21 points and 12 rebounds, Logic added a near triple-double (20/12/8) and Sofie Olsen (13 points) and Nora Hermes (12 points) played huge roles in this decisive game.

Unfortunately, the second semi-finals-series T71 – Amicale is currently on hold because of the Covid-19-virus. T71 leads the series 1:0.
