Saturday-recap: T71-women clinch first place in the standings / T71-men beat Esch

The women of T71 Dudelange will finish the regular season on the first place in the standings! After another win on Saturday (87:50 against Contern) and after winning the direct comparison against the Musel Pikes, T71 is sure to grab the first spot. This means that they will play a potential finals-series with home-court advantage.

Résidence Walfer had no problems to beat Sparta 82:35 while Gréngewald won 86:65 on the road against Basket Esch behind a balanced team effort (5 players with more than 10 points). The Musel Pikes will face Amicale Steinsel on Sunday.


In the men’s Total League, T71 won the top game against Basket Esch and Résidence was able to grab a road-win in Larochette.

Basket Esch – T71 78:92
– Ivey and Harris had 24 points, Muller added a double-double (11/12) and Schumacher scored 17 points
– Joé Biever led Esch with 17 points

– Etzella’s starters scored all their points, Philippe Gutenkauf had 27 points

Arantia – Résidence 78:85
– Eberhard (29/11), Rideau (28/11) and Francois (10/15) had double-doubles with points and rebounds

Musel Pikes – Sparta 77:64
– Buntic scored a season-high 26 points
– Feipel scored 18 points and added 10 rebounds for the guests

Racing – Contern 96:78
– Rutherford scored 29 points and 21 rebounds, Soragna added 21 points
– Shahid (25) and Andjelkovic (17) were the main scorers for Contern

Heffingen – Telstar 112:64
– Heffingen started the game with a 15:0 run
