The first 3 X 3 coaching course was a success

The first 3X3 coaching course that was organized on August 22nd at the Coque in Kirchberg was a success. National team head coach Vincent Gevrey, team manager and player Nadia Mossong and referee Cathy Donckel talked to the audience and tried to give answers to the some main questions: What does a 3×3 training look like? What qualities are especially valued in 3×3? How do you organize a 3×3 event? What rules are different in 3×3?

„Since 2021, coaches need to participate in courses in order to keep their licence active at ENEPS and we try to offer them interesting courses » notes Liz Schmitz. „Because our women’s national team will participate in the FIBA Europe Cup in a few days, this was a perfect opportunity to offer a 3X3 based course. »

First of all, Vincent Gevrey talked about the specific elements of 3X3 basketball and afterwards, coaches had a chance to watch a practice of the women’s team in the gym. A microphone allowed the audience to hear all instructions from coach Gevrey during the practice. After the team practice, referee Cathy Donckel gave further explanatins about the differences concerning the game rules in 3X3 basketball. Vincent Gevrey talked about the player profile that coaches are looking for in 3X3 basketball and Nadia Mossong talked about the organizational part of the sport. Around 20 coaches took part in the 3-hour formation.
A big event is coming up for 3X3 basketball in Luxembourg as our women’s national team will compete at the European Championship in Jerusalem on September 5th-7th. More information on this event will follow soon.

The next coaching course for Mini-Basketball will be organized on September 30th (9:30 – 11:30) in Niederanven. Peter Rajniak, Jhemp Sinner and Christophe Toussaint will guide coaches through this course.
