Our U16 girls are on their way to Podgorica (MNE) to play the European Championship (Division B). The first game will be on Thursday evening against Germany.
Preparation:
Our U16 girls have played many international games over the course of the season. As in previous years, our team played 3 EGBL tournaments. In July, the girls competed against U16 national teams from Holland and Ireland in our annual youth trophy. A week later we traveled to Amsterdam for 2 more preparation games against U16 girls from the Netherlands. Our girls played our last two preparation games at home against the U16 national team from Austria.
Coaching staff:
We are sure that these international games helped our players in their development and we hope that these experiences will help us at the European championship. We also know that a difficult task awaits us. We enter our group against Ukraine, Estonia, Norway and the favorite Germany. We are flying to Podgorica with a very inexperienced and very young team (6 players are born in 2008 and only one player has European championship experience). Nevertheless, as always, we will give our all, represent our country well and try to win as many games as possible.
