Our U18 boys have missed the final of the European Championship (Division C). On Saturday, the FLBB squad lost 63:70 against Cyprus after very intense final seconds.
In fact, with the score tied at 63:63, Luxembourg had crucial turnovers on inbounds plays late in the game which cost the team a chance at winning the game and entering the final. Luxembourg had a total of 30 turnovers in the game. It was another balanced team effort on offense with Kevin Almeida Lopes leading the way with 16 points. After a strong 3rd quarter (20:10), Luxembourg entered the final quarter with a 2-point lead but Cyprus was able to turn the game around in the final seconds.
The team of coach Thierry Kremer will now play the game for 3rd place on Sunday.
