U18 girls lose against Estonia

On Saturday, our U18 girls played the second game of the European Championship. Against Estonia, the FLBB squad clearly lost 45:95.

Luxembourg made only 22% of the shot attempts and trailed 28:53 at the break. Mae Manti led the team with 11 points.

Coaching staff:
„Today, we lost against a strong Estonian team that impressed with their shooting. We did not execute our game plan well in the opening minutes and allowed them to build confidence early. Throughout the game, we tried several different defensive strategies, but it’s rare to see a team shoot over 50% from the three-point line. They found solutions against every adjustment we made and scored from all angles — even when the shots were well contested.

Just like yesterday, the girls fought with everything they had and showed great team spirit. However, Estonia was clearly the better team today, and we have to accept that.

Tomorrow, we face Slovakia, probably the best team in our group. Still, as one of the youngest teams in the tournament, we will continue to fight, gain experience, and work to become better with every game. »
