Our U18 ladies played the quarter final of the European Division B Championship on Friday. After winning all 3 games in the group, Luxembourg faced the second placed team from group D, Slovakia. In another very intense game, Luxembourg won an absolute thriller after overtime! The final score was 82:77.
After an intense first half, Luxembourg trailed by 2 points (38:40), Ehi Etute scored 22 points in the first two quarters. Slovakia was able to take a 9-point lead in the third quarter, but Luxembourg reacted and stromed back into the game. In the final minutes, the lead changed from team to team and Slovakia hit a jumper to force overtime. In the extra period, Luxembourg was able to win the game! What an accomplishment by our team – congratulations to the team and staff!
Once again, Ehi Etute simply had an outstanding performance, she finished with 48 points and 24 rebounds.
The FLBB squad will now play the semi finals on Saturday against Bosnia and Herzegovina!

,,We won a huge fight against a taller and more physical team. We took the lead in the beginning but they turned the game in their advantage. In the third quarter they had a 9 point lead, but our girls kept fighting and made a big comeback. The end of the game was a real thriller and we finished 71-71. The reason we could win game was the collective work and the fighting spirit. We are keeping the dream alive and tomorrow in the semi-finals we are going face Bosnia Herzegovina.‘‘
