Zolwer uses strong 4th quarter to beat Heffingen

On Sunday, Zolwer hosted Heffingen to complete game day 20 in the LBBL.

AS Zolwer – US Heffingen 89:73
– Season debut for Marquese Midgette-Colemann
– Heffingen fought back in the third quarter but Zolwer a strong fourth quarter (28:15) to secure big points in the race against relegation
– 5 Zolwer-players scored in double digits, Davide Grün led his team with 19 points, Dakota Quinn had 18 points and 18 rebounds
– Zolwer improves to 6:14 and is tied with the Musel Pikes after this win, Heffingen remains at the bottom of the standings with a 2:18 record, the team will already have a large deficit before the start of the play-down in a few weeks

The men’s LBBL league is on a short break right now because the national team will be in action with a gala game against Sluc Nancy on February 25th at the Coque in Kirchberg. The next game day will be played on March 4th.

– Jamison Overton scored a game-high 41 points to lead the hosts, Terry Winn led the guests with 27 points
– Arantia improves its record to 12:8, Gréngewald’s record drops to 7:13

– In a high scoring first half, Etzella led 62:50 at the break
– Philippe Gutenkauf hit 8 threes as Etzella rolled to a clear victory
– Etzella improves its record to 14:5, Résidence has 10:10 record and remains winless in 2023
– Despite the loss, Résidence is qualified for the play-offs because their rivals all lost as well this weekend

Amicale Steinsel – Musel Pikes 102:74
– The hosts took control of the game early and never looked back to earn this victory
– Amicale has a league best 15:4 record while the Musel Pikes are 6:14 after this loss
– The Musel Pikes will play in the play-down, they can not reach the play-offs anymore

On Friday:
Sparta Bertrange – T71 Dudelange 77:90
– Sparta had a 1-point lead (42:41) after a buzzer beater by Isaiah White to close the first half
– T71 managed to create a lead in the second half and finally won the game by 13 points
– Jimmie Taylor led T71 with 26 points, Kevin Moura added 19 points
– 10 players scored in double digits in this game
– T71 improves its record to 15:5 and stays in position to finish the regular season as the number one seed, Sparta lost for the first time since the restart and has a 9:11 record
