Bascharage keeps chances alive / 1 game day remains to be played

The 27th out of 28 game-days in the men’s National 2 was played on Saturday.

One decision remains open as Mondorf and Bascharage will fight for the 3rd place in the standings that will qualify a team to play a best-of-3 promotion-series. The opponent in that series will be AB Contern. ( –> Telstar relegates, Contern will play the relegation-series )

Avanti Mondorf has the qualification in its own hands. After a relatively easy victory over Black Star this weekend (72:42), the team of coach Philip Dejworek can qualify with one more victory over Mambra Mamer on the last game day next weekend. Mondorf was led by Small and Ross, both players scored 22 points in their win against Mersch. Furthermore, the team is also qualified if Bascharage loses one more game.

Bascharage has 2 more games remaining, the team of coach Adam Radomirovic needs to win both games this week and hope that Mondorf loses against Mamer at the same time. Bascharage was able to beat BC Mess 90:78 on Saturday to keep its chances for 3rd place alive. 5 players scored in double digits as Aziz Ndiaye led the squad with 28 points.

Both promoted team, Gréngewald and Zolwer, managed to grab another win this weekend. Zolwer overcame 46 points by Kordall’s Hobbs and won 82:69. Gréngewald won 70:61 against Mamer behind 13 made three-pointers.
