The 5th game day of the men’s National 2 play-offs was played this weekend.
AS Zolwer has earned a key victory by beating Gréngewald Hueschtert 90:86 on the road. Felix Kloman and Christian Parker each scored 33 points to help Zolwer take a 2-point lead over the opponent in the standings.
US Heffingen was able to grab a 82:69 win over the Black Frogs Schieren and with this victory, Heffingen extends the lead in the standings. Jacub Washington led the team with 22 points while Gerry Schuder added 19 points.
On Friday, Avanti Mondorf was able to grab a 86:78 victory against Black Star Mersch. Uzziah Dawkins (29 points, 13 rebounds) and Joseph Reuter (22 points, 18 rebounds) had strong games for the hosts. After a strong first round of the play-offs, Mondorf still has a chance to climb the standings on the final 5 game days and enter the race for the promotion spots.
After the first round of the play-offs, Heffingen sits on top of the standings with a 3-point advantage to a non-promotion spot while Zolwer is in second place with a 2-point lead to the third spot.
