Diederich completes the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate 2023–2025 within the Top 5

Laure Diederich has officially graduated from the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate (FECC) 2023–2025. Over the course of three summers, 58 coaches from 40 different countries came together to learn, grow, and connect through basketball. The level of the participants was impressive: among many national team coaches, some graduates currently work or have worked in the Spanish Liga LEB Oro or Liga Endesa feminina, coach in the EuroLeague, or have even won the NBA Summer League with their team. This diversity of backgrounds contributed to the richness of discussions and the strength of the FECC network. Learning didn’t only happen in the lecture hall, but also between peers, during late-night assignments, and in exchanges shaped by real-world high-level experience.
After three intensive years, 51 coaches successfully completed the program – among them, Laure Diederich, who finished the program among the top five of her class, continuing the country’s active participation in high-level European coaching development.

The FECC is considered one of the most prestigious coaching education programs in Europe. Organized by FIBA, it focuses on developing coaches who work with young talent and preparing them to contribute to the long-term development of the sport in their respective countries. The program includes a mix of theoretical lectures, practical sessions, assignments, and real-time observation of European Youth Championships.
The ninth edition of the FECC began in 2023 in Skopje, North Macedonia, during the U16 European Championship. The second year took place in 2024 in Tampere, Finland, alongside the U18 European Championship. The final stage was held in 2025 in Heraklion, Greece, during the U20 European Championship, where final exams and evaluations took place.

Throughout the three years, participants had the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced coaches in international basketball. Lecturers included:
Janez Dravarič, Aysim Altay, Prof. Nenad Trunic, Marco Ramondino, Andrea Trinchieri, Erdem Can, Pablo Laso, Miodrag Licina and Israel Gonzalez.

The program is mentored by Svetislav Pesic, the winning coach of multiple European and World Championship titles and was led by Michael Schwarz, whose work ensured that the curriculum remained both demanding and impactful. Behind the scenes, the support of FIBA and the local organizing federations helped make each stage of the program a success.
