Heffingen and Etzella qualify for the play-offs, 1 spot remaining

On Friday-evening, the first game-day of the double-game-day was played in the Total League. Heffingen and Etzella have won their game and are qualified for the play-offs! One spot remains in the top 6.

Racing – Heffingen 60:66
–> Heffingen makes the play-offs and stays in the league for the first time in a long time! Certainly a big success for the club.
–> The guests went on a big 2nd quarter run to build a lead.
–> Racing had a bad shooting night until Engel hit 3 3’s in the 4th quarter to bring them back, but Heffingen survived even without Stephend (fouled out with 5′ remaining).
–> Like in their first meeting, Morton scored only 2 points, Drakeford had a game-high 21.

Basket Esch – Etzella 68:77
–> Etzella qualifies for the play-offs!
–> first game for newly acquired US-player Harrell who scored 30 points. Polfer and Delgado added 14.
–> Rugg had 27/18 for Esch.

Sparta – Amicale 105:78
–> first game for new head-coach Pascal Meurs.
–> Sparta had a big lead early and never looked back.
–> 3 Sparta-players scored 20+ points.
–> Sparta stays in the play-off-race

Arantia – Musel Pikes 68:76
–> Garrett had 21 points and 12 rebounds.
–> Arantia missed a chance to qualify for the play-offs, they will face Racing on Sunday.

Contern – T71 105:109 (OT)
–> Moura hit the decisive 3-pointer with 1 second remaining, but Morgan answered to put the game to extra-time.
–> Birenbaum (illness) missed the game.
–> Anderson had 27 points and 21 rebounds, Morgan had a game-high 37.

PLAY-OFF-SITUATION:
–> Esch, T71, Musel Pikes, Heffingen and Etzella are qualified for the play-offs and therefore also for the quarter-finals!
The final spot will go to either Arantia, Racing or Sparta depending on the results on Sunday. We will explain the situation later. Stay tuned.
