On Saturday, Luxembourg’s Senior women played the fifth game of the 2027 FIBA Eurobasket qualifiers (first round). The game against Israel at the Coque in Kirchberg was played without spectators.
After a spectacular win against Ireland on Wednesday , Luxembourg lost the fifth game of the competition against the unbeaten group leader, the final score was 52:76. After 5 games, Luxembourg has 3 victories and 2 losses on its record and is already qualified for the second round of the qualifiers.
The FLBB squad had a difficult start into the game and trailed 29:42 at the break. Dionne Madjo and Esmeralda Skrijelj led the scoring category for Luxembourg before half-time. Israel started the sedond half with another run and extended the lead to 20 points. Luxembourg was not able to get closer over the course of the second half and lost the game clearly in the end.
Dionne Madjo led Luxembourg with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
