On Friday evening, our Senior men’s national team played the third game of the FIBA 2029 Eurobasket pre-qualifiers. In North Macedonia, it was the duell between the two unbeaten co-leaders of group A.
North Macedonia came out strong and built an early 25:17 lead after the first quarter. Defensively, the opponent made it hard for the FLBB team to use its strengths. Philippe Gutenkauf hit the only 2 three-pointers by Luxembourg in the first half and the FLBB squad trailed 32:44 at the break.
Luxembourg hit only 4 three-point shots in the game and could not come closer in the second half. North Macedonia was in control and finally won the game with a 9-point advantage.
Ben Kovac scored a team-high 20 points for Luxembourg, Clancy Rugg, Philippe Gutenkauf and Malcolm Kreps scored in double digits as well.
