Men’s Senior national team in action on Friday and Monday

Our Senior men’s national team will be in action over the next days in the FIBA 2029 Eurobasket pre-qualifiers.

The program:
Friday, February 27th –> 18:00 North Macedonia – Luxembourg
Monday, March 2nd –> 20:30 Ireland – Luxembourg

Luxembourg has started the competition with 2 victories and will now play on the road twice in this window. On Friday, Luxembourg will play against the group leader North Macedonia. In the RTL Rebound reportage, Head coach Ken Diederich said that the opponent is a „tall and physical team and the clear favorite of the group. It will be a difficult game where we have nothing to lose. Competition system:
A total of 10 teams is part of the Pre-Qualifiers divided in 3 groups. Four teams – the three group winners and the best-ranked runner-up will advance to the Second Round where they will join eight teams from the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers First Round.
