Racing takes last play-off-place!

Racing Luxembourg is the 6th team that will compete in the play-offs next to the Musel Pikes, Basket Esch, T71, Etzella and Heffingen.

On Sunday, Racing was able to beat Arantia. At the same time, Sparta won its game in Ettelbruck but that was not enough to make the play-offs. Arantia had a chance to make the play-offs with a win, but the team had a bad night and was not able to compete with Racing on Sunday. Because Heffingen won against Esch, Racing would not even have needed to win by 10 points which, of course, they did not know during the game (or at least during late in the game).

In the end, it is a 3-team-tie between Sparta, Racing and Arantia with the following standings:
1. Racing 7 points
2. Sparta 6 points
3. Arantia 5 points

OVERVIEW OF ALL GAMES:

  • Etzella – Sparta 84:99
    – Robinson posted 30 points, Williams added 22 and Schomer added 21 in a strong game overall for Sparta. However, their victory was not enough to qualify.
  • Arantia – Racing 74:90
    – Racing is qualified for the play-offs with this win, the final point difference was not even important because Heffingen won its game and a 3-team-tie brought the decision.
    – Dennis had his best game so far for Racing with a near-triple-double while Morton and Laures added big double-doubles for Racing.
    – Racing ended its losing streak on an impressive note, especially on the defensive end with Morton leading the way.
  • Heffingen – Basket Esch 72:67
    – Drakeford had 29 points and 15 rebounds, Stephens added 22 rebounds, Schmit had 19 points.
    – Rugg had 25 points and 22 rebounds for Esch.
  • T71 – Musel Pikes 81:96
    – Schumacher had a game-high 23 points.
    – 6 Pikes-players scored more than 11 points.
    – The Musel Pikes are the leader in the standings, 1 point ahead of Esch.
  • Amicale – Contern 91:102
    – Morgan had 39 points, Weaver had 23 and 16 rebounds.
