Our U16 Women’s National Team had its final training camp before the European Championship (August 20-29). The team was in Bulgaria for an exchange.
Report by our coaching staff:
Bulgaria won both games convincingly (87–50 and 86–63).
Game 1
Bulgaria controlled the game from the start, steadily increasing their lead each quarter. They had a strong inside presence, scoring 48 points in the paint compared to our 24, and showed excellent shooting efficiency (33/60 FG, 55%). Our team struggled with turnovers, which resulted in 36 points for Bulgaria.
Game 2
Our team improved its offensive output compared to Game 1, but Bulgaria maintained control with balanced scoring and superior shooting percentages. We increased our scoring in the second quarter and reduced turnovers, but still could not match Bulgaria’s efficiency in the paint.
Overall
Bulgaria dominated in the paint, forced high turnover numbers, and demonstrated deep bench contributions in both games. Our team made clear progress in Game 2 with better ball control and scoring, but shooting consistency and defensive stops in the paint remained our main challenges.
