The women team T71 Dudelange played its third game of the EuroCup competition on the road in Portugal on Thursday evening. Against SL Benfica, the team from Luxembourg lost 69:84.
The hosts started strong and took a quick 20:10 lead. T71 reacted in the second quarter with a scoring streak by Mandy Geniets and three point shots by Rice to reduce the deficit to 2 points (42:44). Benfica had another run before the break and led 53:46 after 2 quarters. After the break, Benfica was able to extend the lead and dominate the game until the final buzzer.
Newly added Zykera Rice played her first game for Dudelange, she finished the game with a team-high 20 points, Faith Ehi Etute (14), Mandy Geniets (12) and Shalonda Winton (10) scored in double digits as well.
