Gréngewald (women) and Esch (men) advance to the cup final

The cup weekend started on Friday with the cup FLBB finals ( –> Black Star and Arantia win cup FLBB ) . On Saturday, the first semi finals were played ( –> Sparta (women) and Etzella (men) advance to the cup finals ) and on Sunday, the second day of the semi finals was played. 2000 spectators were in the Coque (sold out crowd).

Women:
T71 Dudelange – Gréngewald Hueschtert 77:78
– Taylor Jones scored 16 points in the first half to give T71 a 10-point lead at the break (47:37)
– Samantha Logic had 22 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds and Dejza James scored 23 points
– Zykera Rice led T71 with 24 points, Faith Ehi Etute had 14 points and 21 rebounds
– T71 was rewarded 2 points by mistake in the first quarter, that error was corrected after the game so that Gréngewald wins the game and enters the cup final

Men:
T71 Dudelange – Basket Esch 79:91
– In a very intense game, Esch had the better finish and won this battle of the South
– Clancy Rugg (28 points, 11 rebounds) and Thomas Grün (23 points) led Esch to this victory
– Esch hit 24/27 free throws

The cup finals will be played on March 18th at the Coque in Kirchberg. Etzella Ettelbruck – Basket Esch (men) and Gréngewald Hueschtert – Sparta Bertrange will play the cup final.
