The basketball season 2025/26 is only a few days away, the clubs have started the pre-season and the first friendly games are being played.
Let’s take a look at the game mode in the women’s and men’s leagues (Enovos League, National 2, National 3).
In the men’s competition, the game mode will remain the same compared to the previous season. 12 compete in the first league, 11 teams play in the second league and 10 teams play in the third league. In the men’s Enovos League, the best 8 teams will compete in the play-offs to determine the champion.
Men’s Enovos League
12 teams: Amicale Steinsel, Basket Esch, AB Contern, Etzella Ettelbruck, Musel Pikes, Résidence Walfer, Sparta Bertrange, T71 Dudelange, Arantia Larochette, Mambra Mamer, Kordall Steelers, Racing Luxembourg
Men’s National 2
11 teams: Avanti Mondorf, US Heffingen, Gréngewald Hueschtert, AS Zolwer, Black Frogs Schieren, Black Star Mersch, BC Mess, Hedgehogs Bascharage, Nitia Bettembourg, North Fox Clierf, FLBB U18 team
An U18 team by the FLBB will compete in the men’s National 2. While the team’s games will count normally, the U18 selection can not promote or relegate.
Men’s National 3
In the men’s National 3, the top A-team after the regular season will compete in the play-offs against the bottom 5 teams from the National 2.
10 teams: Luxembourg Phoenix by Frisange, BBC Diekirch, Les Sangliers Wiltz, East Side Pirates, Rebound Préizerdall, Telstar Hesperange, Kayldall, Arantia Larochette B, Racing Luxembourg B, Black Frogs Schieren B
Women’s Enovos League
In the women’s competition, the game mode has changed sligthly because the number of teams has been reduced to 7 teams. All 7 teams will meet each other 3 times before the start of the semi finals and the play-down. No club will relegate to the National 2. The top 2 A-teams of the National 2 season will play a promotion best-of-3 series to fight for a spot in the Enovos League.

Women’s National 2
13 teams: Gréngewald Hueschtert, Etzella Ettelbruck, AS Zolwer, BC Mess, Kordall Steelers, Black Star Mersch, East Side Pirates, Racing Luxembourg, Telstar Hesperange, Black Frogs Schieren, T71 Dudelange B, AB Contern B, Basket Esch B
The women’s Enovos League will start with a big event on September 21st –> ENOVOS LADIES OPEN will kick off the season on September 21st at INS
