The basketball season 2026/27 is only a few days away, the clubs have started the pre-season and the first friendly games are being played.
Let’s take a look at the game mode in the women’s and men’s leagues (Enovos League, National 2, National 3).
In the men’s competition, the game mode will remain the same compared to the previous seasons. 12 teams compete in the first league, 11 teams play in the second league (National 2) and 8 teams play in the third league (National 3). In the men’s Enovos League, the best 8 teams will compete in the play-offs to determine the champion after a regular season with 22 game days.
Men’s Enovos League
12 teams: Amicale Steinsel, Basket Esch, Etzella Ettelbruck, Musel Pikes, Résidence Walfer, Sparta Bertrange, T71 Dudelange, Arantia Larochette, Kordall Steelers, Racing Luxembourg, Gréngewald Hueschtert, AS Zolwer
Men’s National 2
11 teams: Avanti Mondorf, US Heffingen, Mambra Mamer, AB Contern, Black Frogs Schieren, Black Star Mersch, BC Mess, Hedgehogs Bascharage, Nitia Bettembourg, North Fox Clierf, FLBB U18 team
Once again, the CFBB U18 team by the FLBB will compete in the men’s National 2. While the team’s games will count normally, the U18 selection can not promote or relegate at the end of the season.
Men’s National 3
In the men’s National 3, the top A-team after the regular season will compete in the play-offs against the bottom 5 teams from the National 2.
8 teams: Luxembourg Phoenix by Frisange, BBC Diekirch, East Side Pirates, Rebound Préizerdaul, Telstar Hesperange, Kayldall, AS Zolwer B, Black Frogs Schieren B
Women’s Enovos League
In the women’s competition, the game mode remains the same as 2025/26 because the number of teams is once again 7. All 7 teams will meet each other 3 times before the start of the semi finals and the play-down. No club will relegate to the National 2. The top 2 A-teams of the National 2 season will play a promotion best-of-3 series to fight for a spot in the Enovos League.

Women’s National 2
1o teams: Etzella Ettelbruck, AS Zolwer, BC Mess, Kordall Steelers, Black Star Mersch, East Side Pirates, Telstar Hesperange, Résidence Walfer, US Heffingen, Arantia Larochette
The women’s Enovos League will start with a big event on September 20th in Niederanven –> Second edition of the “LADIES OPEN” on September 20th
