Coaching staff:
„The U18 European Championship tipped off with two tightly contested games, both of which our team managed to win, showing great resilience.
In the opening match, we faced a confident Andorra team that had convincingly defeated Moldova in their first outing. That confidence was evident in the early minutes as Andorra took control and built an early lead. However, our players responded with determination and composure, gradually shifting the momentum in our favor. Behind an good shooting performance from beyond the arc (10/22 3PT), we were able to turn the game around and secure a hard-fought victory.
On the second game day, we went up against the host nation, who were under pressure to win after an earlier setback. Playing in front of their home crowed ultimately emerge as winners. The coaching staff is particularly proud of how the group embraced the challenge and showed toughness and unity under pressure.
After a well-earned rest day, our focus now shifts to the next two crucial matchups. We first take on a Malta side that must not be underestimated, followed by a game against Moldova, a team that has started to find its rhythm after a slow start.
Recovery and preparation will be key as we look to continue building momentum and secure a spot in the semi-finals. »
