Women’s national team played two friendly games in Croatia (stats and pictures)

Our women’s national team is currently preparing for the upcoming challenges in November (FIBA window). To close a 3-week summer camp, the team of head coach Mariusz Dziurdzia was in Croatia to play two friendly games against the women’s national team of the country.

Without Ehis Etute, Svenia Nurenberg and Mandy Geniets (all injured), Cathrin Wolff (work), Amanda Cahill (plays in Australia), Luxembourg lost the first game 70:98 against the hosts and the second game 51:72.

You can find the game stats of the friendly games against Croatia on the attached document.

Analysis by head coach Marisuz Dziurdzia: „It was a very important exchange in Croatia. We want to thank the hosts for a perfect organization. We were able to show promising performances in both games. In the first game, we started well and Croatia had to call an early timeout to adapt to our playing style. However, the hosts kept shooting and scoring from outside the 3-point arc (19/51) and finally scored by 28 points. We further improved in the second game and led 18:12 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, Croatia turned the game around as we had too many turnovers to stay in the game against such a strong opponent. All in all, I am satisified with the exchange, we found out in which areas we need to improve. It was a good step forward to being at our best when the FIBA window in November will be on the schedule. »
