The achilles injury could end Raul Birenbaum’s career

Raul Birenbaum suffered a season ending achilles injury last Saturday against Walferdange. The injury could also be a career ending injury as Birenbaum said in an article in the newspaper Quotidien.

The fatal injury happened in the second quarter on a « normal » jumpshot. Birenbaum immediately had enormous pain, he went to the hospital and was operated quickly. Normally, an achilles tear needs at least one full year of recovery time. Birenbaum (31) might consider not to return to the court as he said in the article: „I want to spend more time with my family, I wanted this season to be my last, so that it is very likely that my career is over. »

Birenbaum and AB Contern had a great season so far, Contern is in a great situation in the play-off race and Birenbaum was ranked 3rd in our JICL MVP race presented by QUBE –> JICL MVP race presented by QUBE (second edition)
